Trusted Thailand Sets a New Global Benchmark for Safe and Confident Travel

Trusted Thailand
A Nationwide Safety Standard Strengthening Visitor Confidence

Thailand has unveiled a powerful new chapter in its tourism story with the nationwide rollout of the Trusted Thailand certification programme. Led by the Tourism Authority of Thailand in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and a wide network of public and private sector partners, the initiative reinforces Thailand’s readiness to welcome global travellers with renewed confidence, safety, and quality assurance.

Designed as a visible symbol of trust, the Trusted Thailand stamp sends a clear message to international visitors that the kingdom continues to prioritise world-class standards, seamless visitor experiences, and reliable tourism services across every region.

Rebuilding Trust and Welcoming the World Back to Thailand

Presiding over the launch, Minister of Tourism and Sports Mr. Artthakorn Sirilatthayakorn highlighted the programme’s role in encouraging travellers, particularly from key markets such as China, to return with confidence. The initiative aligns closely with national policy focused on continuous confidence-building through upgraded safety measures, improved inter-agency coordination, transparent communication, and enhanced visitor facilitation.

The launch event brought together senior representatives from tourism, health, national parks, trade, hospitality, retail, and transport sectors, demonstrating a united national effort to safeguard Thailand’s reputation as one of the world’s most welcoming destinations.

A Milestone in Thailand–China Tourism Relations

The Trusted Thailand initiative also carries strong symbolic value as Thailand and China mark 50 years of diplomatic relations. Speaking at the event, Mr. Yang Xiaolong, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand, emphasised that safety remains a decisive factor in travel decisions. He described the initiative as a meaningful demonstration of responsibility, cooperation, and commitment to providing Chinese visitors with secure and high-quality travel experiences.

Chinese travellers currently represent around 15 per cent of total international arrivals in Thailand, making confidence-building measures essential to future tourism growth.

What the Trusted Thailand Certification Means for Travellers

The Trusted Thailand stamp forms part of TAT’s long-term strategy to elevate tourism safety standards both practically and symbolically. Participating operators are assessed across four key areas, including comprehensive safety systems such as CCTV, emergency preparedness, and disaster response; secure and transparent digital payment platforms including Alipay and WeChat Pay; multilingual communication and professional visitor care; and safe, accessible transport routes supported by clear signage and information points.

Certification is valid for two years, ensuring ongoing accountability and consistent quality delivery. More than 5,000 tourism operators nationwide are expected to participate, spanning hotels, accommodation providers, restaurants, attractions, shopping centres, and recreational venues.

A Shared Vision for Quality and Sustainable Growth

TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool described the Trusted Thailand stamp as both a quality benchmark and a shared mission between public and private sectors. She reaffirmed that the programme reflects Thailand’s enduring spirit of hospitality, defined by warmth, cultural charm, and genuine care for every visitor’s wellbeing.

Certified businesses will benefit from promotional support through TAT’s domestic and international marketing channels, as well as global platforms such as Trip.com, strengthening their visibility among international travellers.

Driving Thailand’s Tourism Future

With international arrivals already reaching 26.7 million in the first ten months of 2025, the Trusted Thailand initiative is expected to play a central role in achieving the country’s 2026 tourism revenue target of at least 2.8 trillion baht. By embedding safety, quality, and trust into every stage of the visitor journey, Thailand continues to position itself as a leading destination in Asia and beyond.
