A Night Dedicated to Sustainable Tourism Leadership

The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines brought together more than 300 members, partners and industry leaders for the TPB Members’ Night 2025: Community in Action, held on November 18, 2025, at Solaire Resort North in Quezon City. With the inspiring theme “Creative Upcycling,” this year’s gathering placed a compelling spotlight on responsible tourism, climate action and community empowerment as core pillars guiding the future of Philippine tourism.

In her keynote message, TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles reflected on the agency’s collective achievements throughout the year. She highlighted how tourism stakeholders across the Philippines have played a crucial role in strengthening local economies, supporting disaster recovery, and uplifting communities through mindful and purpose-driven travel initiatives. She emphasised the importance of shared responsibility, noting that tourism carries its greatest impact when practised with intention and care.

Spotlighting Community-Centered Tourism Initiatives

The 2025 Members’ Night celebrated the diverse contributions of TPB members who actively advanced responsible and sustainable travel. Nograles acknowledged the extensive familiarization tours and invitational programs conducted across Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur, Tacloban City, Samar, Davao, Ilocos, Palawan and Negros Island. These programs highlighted cultural heritage, supported biodiversity conservation and fortified long-term destination resilience.

Members were also recognised for their involvement in corporate social responsibility programs in La Union, Batanes and Catanduanes. Through volunteerism and community-based initiatives, these efforts revived vulnerable destinations, restored livelihoods and strengthened local engagement in sustainable tourism development.

Expanding Environmental Stewardship and Climate Action

Reinforcing its environmental commitments, TPB highlighted its support for the Philippine Tarsier Foundation as part of the Philippines’ participation in World Expo 2025 Osaka. This initiative contributes to protecting one of the country’s most vulnerable species while showcasing the importance of conservation on the global stage.

TPB also shared updates on its sustainability programs, including reducing single-use plastics during tours, promoting reusable materials and leading CSR projects focused on climate-responsive tourism. These actions reflect TPB’s goal to nurture destinations that thrive ecologically while welcoming responsible travellers.

Honouring Leaders in Responsible and Inclusive Tourism

A key highlight of the evening was the launch of the TPB Membership Recognition Program, which honours outstanding members who exemplify leadership in sustainability, innovation and inclusivity. The program introduced three categories:
  • Tamaraw Category (Top Domestic Performance): Neomace Travel and Tours and Ilocos Heritage Tours
  • Tarsier Category (Environmental Sustainability Champions): Evasion Tropicale Inc. and Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort
  • Tandikan Category (Inclusive Workplace Leadership): Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort

These recognitions symbolize TPB’s evolving vision of tourism growth rooted in responsibility, creativity and environmental care.

Strengthening Partnerships for a Climate-Conscious Tourism Future

As the event came to a close, Nograles reaffirmed TPB’s mission to further strengthen climate initiatives and develop tourism strategies that protect destinations for future generations. She encouraged all members to continue championing sustainability, noting that the collective efforts of the tourism community are vital in building a resilient and forward-looking industry.
