Hanoi: Hoa Lo Prison Relic introduces new display

Recreate some activities of students, students of
the Hanoi resistance in the years 1949 - 1950
The Hoa Lo Prison Relic Management Board held the opening of the "Green Sprouts on the Rock" exhibition on the morning of July 20 on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023), under the direction of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.

The exhibition "Green Sprouts on the Rock" as a youth song is a deep gratitude to the youths who have sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. The exhibition contributes to arousing national pride, educating patriotic traditions, the principles of "Drinking water, remembering the source", "Repaying gratitude", so that today's young generation more and more "keep the traditional fire - follow the future", contribute to the construction of the Fatherland in the new period.

At the opening ceremony of the "Green Sprouts on the Rock" exhibition, the delegates and visitors were able to see a reenactment of some activities of the students and students of the Hanoi resistance in the years 1949 - 1950. That was the participation in the organization of the delegation to visit the revolutionary soldiers captured and imprisoned by the enemy in Hoa Lo Prison, and played the piano and performed the song "Tien Quan ca" in the death cell; participating in the strike, protesting against terrorism, persecuting students, and maintaining the spirit of resistance students when being examined at the Secret Service. This is also an opportunity for visitors to meet and interact with historical witnesses who are former students and students of the Hanoi Resistance in the 1947 - 1954 period, former members of Bat Sat Youth Newspaper Team, former political prisoners of Hoa Lo Prison, and Phu Quoc POW Prison.

Thematic exhibition "Green Sprouts on the Rock" is presented through 3 contents: Green Age in Hell, Flame of Bronze City, and Unfading Memories. In particular, the exhibition "Green age in the prison of fire" reminds us of Bat Sat Youth Military Newspaper Team, which was established and operated from December 19, 1946 to mid-1948. The team has about 40 members between the ages of 12 and 17. The members bravely and wisely participated in: opening a secret path for our forces to return to Hanoi, delivering letters and documents, distributing leaflets, effectively punishing the French army's henchmen, during the execution of the activities of the police in District 6... arrested and detained at Hoa Lo Prison. Here, young "soldiers" still courageously fought against the harsh prison regime, participated in prison escapes to return to the revolution.

The content "Flames of Thanh Dong" talks about the years of resistance war against the US for national salvation, the youth in the South - where the Fatherland Citadel enthusiastically engaged in fierce struggles, against enemy terrorists, demanding peace in many forms such as: class strikes, demonstrations, "Singing for my compatriots"... These activities not only attracted all classes of people to participate, but also strengthened the South's revolution. When being captured by the enemy and imprisoned in prisons, many students still indomitably struggled, keeping the flame of youthful enthusiasm forever.

The exhibition runs until September 30, 2023.
