With three weeks to go until the Festival begins, demand for tickets is high and many shows have sold out. Festival goers will now be able to immerse themselves in more Festival fun with exhilarating circus acts, side-splitting comedy, captivating cabaret performances, mind-boggling magic, and delightful cocktails.
"There was much excitement with the announcement of Festival Lawn – with the fun spilling out across from Festival Park – and the return of the Spiegeltent and the new addition of Maho Magic Bar. Audiences have been quick to snap up tickets and it’s wonderful to have these two exceptional shows extend their season into September," said Artistic Director Kate Fell.
Blanc de Blanc Encore, the world-class cabaret sensation full of vintage French flair, spectacular aerial displays, and sparkling comedy, will now run until 9 September.
Maho Magic Bar, the neon-lit Tokyo night brought to life that is part show, part bar and all magic, has been extended until 3 September.
“For the first time in our history, Darwin Festival will extend into September giving more wonderful arts and cultural experiences for the people of Darwin and the visitors to the Territory. We’ve had great responses from locals and visitors, as well as businesses wanting to entertain their clients in a unique environment along with social groups out for a great night. It’s great to be able to continue this into September,” said CEO James Gough.
Darwin Festival's decision to extend the run of Blanc de Blanc Encore and Maho Magic Bar reflects the festival's commitment to providing magical moments for locals and visitors alike, encourages more visitation to the CBD, and supports the local hospitality sector.
Minister for Major Events, Paul Kirby said, “It’s always exciting when events evolve and grow, and it is a testament to the hard work and innovation of the Darwin Festival team that this extension of what will be two very popular program elements is possible.”
“The extension means we can all enjoy that festival feeling for a little bit longer and make the very most out of the new Festival Lawn location.”
Tickets are now available for this very special extended season on the official Darwin Festival website.
