True to its name, the festival is known for its diverse events such as "mantou" (lantern) displays, taiko drum performances, and parades.
It is a large-scale summer festival that attracts a significant number of local residents every year.
The "mantou" refers to a traditional Japanese performing art where numerous lanterns are attached to long poles and paraded around.
The main highlight of the Gaina Festival is the grand finale featuring a spectacular fireworks display.
In commemoration of its 50th anniversary this year, the festival will showcase approximately 10,000 fireworks, a significant increase from the previous year, painting the Chugoku Sea in a vibrant array of colors
