Namonaki Pond is nicknamed Monet’s Pond

Namonaki Pond
Located on the grounds of Nemichi Shrine in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, Namonaki Pond is nicknamed Monet’s Pond for its striking resemblance to the works of Claude Monet in his ‘Water Lilies’ series.

With a crystal-clear view of the colourful koi fish (Japanese carp) swimming beneath the water’s surface, this hidden gem is sure to captivate nature lovers and art enthusiasts alike.

Take the bus to Horado Kiwi Plaza from Gifu Station. From there, transfer to the free Itadori Fureai Bus and alight at Ajisai-en.
