With the European summer coming up, many are looking to escape off to the popular beaches of Spain, the hustle and bustle of metropolitan London, or the clubs of Greece. Although rich in history and culture, the current exchange rate for the Euro is less than ideal.

Global Travel Site Skyscanner recently revealed that despite facing a rising cost of living, majority of Aussies (97%) still plan to take at least one trip abroad this year, with one-third (33%) looking to choose a destination where their currency will go further. *

One such destination that has become a top search and is trending upwards is India with flight bookings up by 21% versus 2019 pre pandemic. The Aussie dollar currently stands strong against the Indian Rupee and a great travel bargain destination.

With this in mind, Skyscanner Travel Expert Jarrod Kris, has shared his top picks to travel this winter where the Aussie dollar will stretch further.

Skyscanner Travel Expert Jarrod Kris shares that according to the exchange rate, the best places you can head to this winter are;

India

“Take advantage of the current strength the Aussie dollar has over the Indian Ruppe and visit the heart of Bollywood cinema, Mumbai. Gaze upon the Gateway of India stone arch or explore the ancient cave temples on Elephanta Island, temples dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.”

- Skyscanner deal: For those intrigued by India, find deals from Perth to Mumbai for as little as $765

Japan

“We know Aussies have an affinity for Japan so it comes as good news that the dollar is doing well there. Japan has been a destination for avid snow chasers for some time now, but in the summer Japan has just as much to offer. There is so much to explore this Japanese summer such as the Hoshitoge Rice Terraces or the beautiful beaches of Okinawa. Japan could be the ideal spot for the avid explorer.”Skyscanner deal: The avid explorer can travel from Melbourne to Tokyo for as little as $636 from Melbourne

Argentina

“With the Aussie dollar performing well in Argentina, now might be the time to consider exploring the lesser visited. For those who have always dreamt of a South American escape, Argentina truly can show you more bang for your buck. On the top of many travelers list to South America, Argentina is famous for its stunning natural landscapes in Patagonia to its vibrant city life in Buenos Aires. Exploring the gem of South America will also promise you a culinary experience any foodie would die for.”Skyscanner deal: Adventurous Argentina explorers can fly from Brisbane to Buenos Aires for as little as $2,360 from Brisbane
