First virtual reality light park to take shape in Da Nang

A virtual reality light park using Korean technology is expected to take shape in a tourist area of Ngu Hanh Son district in the central city of Da Nang.

A memorandum of understanding to this effect was signed on May 23 by Ben Thanh - Non Nuoc Tourism Joint Stock Company and two Korean partners.

The park, the first of its kind in Vietnam, will use virtual reality (VR) technology of Newto Korea Company.

Nguyen Xuan Binh, deputy director of Da Nang Department of Tourism, said with the tourism sector on the path of recovery, the project will contribute to creating more attractive tourism products and luring more visitors to the coastal city.

He expressed his hope the theme park will be put into operation soon in order to serve both domestic and foreign tourists coming to Da Nang.

Nguyen Ngoc Tung, a representative of the tourism site in Ngu Hanh Son, said that Da Nang is one of the top destinations for tourists as it features a number of major entertainment areas, and that the virtual reality light park will provide visitors with a completely different entertainment experience.

Kim Woon Tae, director of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), pointed out that Da Nang and Vietnam in general are hugely popular destinations for Korean travelers, with millions of Koreans visiting Da Nang each year in the pre-COVID period.

The implementation of the light park project in the country’s leading tourist city is anticipated to attract more tourists and mark a new milestone in business cooperation between the two countries, he stressed.
