Four equestrian artists : Impressions of the Turf

Impressions of the Turf at the Osborne Studio Gallery in Belgravia, London (19 June to 15 July 2023) brings together four British artists, with totally distinctive in style, whose art is steeped in all things equine. 

Jessica Hills Jessica grew up in Lambourn, known as the ‘valley of the race horse’, with generations of her family trainers and jockeys. 

Lara Robinson Classically trained in Florence and Barcelona, Lara’s work looks to ‘capture this passion, glory and love for the sport, and especially in that natural amphitheatre of Ascot.’ 

Michelle McCullagh Michelle uses many colours in her paintings, depicting the movement and emotion of thoroughbreds. 

Clementine St John Webster Clementine believes painting horses is a combination of science and art requiring understanding of their anatomy and the subtlety of their behaviour.
