Tet is the Vietnamese New Year and is the most important festival and public holiday in Vietnam.
It begins with flowers, sharing with friends, cleaning, cooking and preparations.
An example of Tet being the definitive Vietnamese holiday is that 'Tet' itself means 'festival' and is the shortened version of 'Tết Nguyên Đán', which is Sino-Vietnamese for 'Feast of the First Morning of the First Day'.
This year will be no less festive buy maybe not as lavish. The country has expereinced great hardship and some of the poorest will feel this season the most.

International travel is openning up – but the offical dates are still unclear
The Vietnam tourist Industry is gearing up in readiness to welcome international travellers back to Vietnam on the basis the government has approved the resumption of international flights.
However, offically there is no set date yet. It is being seen in news reports that Vietnam will offer tourist Visa’s from May, 2022, however no further detail is being shared as of the date of this newsletter.

Vietnam Airlines reconnected commercial flight schedules from 17 cities in 13 countries: Beijing, Guangzhou (China), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (Korea), Taipei (Taiwan - China), Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Vientiane (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), San Francisco/Los Angeles (USA), Melbourne/Sydney (Australia), Frankfurt (Germany), London (United Kingdom), Paris (France), Moscow (Russia) (*the list continues to be updated at the request of the authorities) power).
Bamboo Airways reconnected commercial flights with Japan, Korea and Taipei from Jan2022.
