Russell snowplow train

Konan Railway is a local line that runs through Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture. 

On snowy winter days, a Russell snowplow train will be in action to remove snow from the tracks due to heavy snow in the area. 

As the hours of operation are not announced, you are lucky if you catch one hustling through snow on your visit!

Even if you miss the , boarding on a retro train to enjoy the snowy landscape is still a one-of-a-kind experience when you visit Hirosaki in winter.
