Kobe Luminarie attracts millions annually

Kobe Luminarie
In early December every year, the streets around Kobe’s Higashi Yuenchi Park are lit up with the warm glow of lights from the annual Kobe Luminarie in remembrance of the 17 January 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake.

Many of the installations were created and showcased as a collaboration between Italy and Japan.

The event attracts millions annually, and is both a touching and beautiful way for visitors to experience an important part of Kobe’s history.
