With the increased venue capacity, Mardi Gras has expanded their free ticket offering for community members who are feeling the financial impact of COVID-19, now giving away 2,000 free tickets to ensure the Parade is as accessible as possible to all. Tickets will be randomly allocated via a ballot system where 1,000 people will be selected to receive a double pass to experience the Parade live at the SCG.
Mardi Gras CEO Albert Kruger said, “We understand that 2020 has been a challenging year for many members of our LGBTQI+ communities, and in response to those who are experiencing financial hardship as a result, we announced Mardi Gras would hold a free ticketing ballot for the Parade back in November.”
“We are extremely pleased that the easing of restrictions means we can extend our offering to 2,000 free tickets in total, ensuring that as many people as possible can celebrate their Pride with us in person on the night,” said Kruger.
Applications for the COVID-19 Hardship ballot are now open. Click HERE to apply, winners will be drawn on January 3, 2021 and notified the following week.
Additional Parade seating will go on sale this Wednesday 9 December at 2pm AEDT. Sign up to the Mardi Gras newsletter to ensure you don’t miss out www.mardigras.org.au
