The Fresh New Look of the Transformed Novotel Sydney Parramatta

Novotel Sydney Parramatta
The Novotel Sydney Parramatta has recently revealed a fresh new look following its extensive $6.5 million upgrade program. It is a very impressive glass-walled curved building in Parramatta.

I was fortunate to stay in this 4.5-star hotel in bustling Parramatta on my recent trip to Sydney. The 194 guest rooms and suites have been totally transformed in the upgrade with fresh and modern amenities. The refurbishment has updated the rooms with a new level of comfort, convenience and sophistication.

The aim of the recent upgrade was to blend chic, urban style with plush textures and soothing colours to create a sense of restfulness and calm. This has certainly been achieved. I enjoyed my stay there - it felt like a home away from home.

I appreciated the cool and contemporary tones and the modern decor of my refurbished room that provided me with an urban haven away from my conference program in Sydney.

Like all the other rooms and suites, my guest room featured a plush gel-infused memory foam bed. This was very comfortable and provided for restful sleep. There were bedside lamps and handy USB ports next to both sides of the bed.

My guest room also featured a work desk, individually controlled air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a 42' LCD wall-mounted television with free-to-air, Foxtel channels and Novotel channels.

If I was really keen to get fit I could have accessed the in-room TV channel, InBalance by Novotel with Sally Fitzgibbons to get a gentle workout in the privacy of my room. For a yoga session, I could have contacted reception for a yoga mat to be brought to my room.

My clean ensuite white and red bathroom had both a shower and bath. I loved the good range of Fair Trade toiletries provided and the large fluffy towels. The well-lit ensuite had a good light around the mirror over the vanity.

Novotel Sydney Parramatta offers a choice of room and suite styles and bed configurations, depending on guests travel needs. These include Standard Queen Rooms, Standard Twin Room, Superior King Room and Executive King Suites. For something special, Novotel Sydney Parramatta also offers three indulgent and open-plan style King Spa Suites, located on the top floor of the hotel complete with a kitchenette and offering magnificent views of Parramatta.

The spacious ground floor sunlit atrium houses the reception desk, bar, and the splendid cuisine of the 350 Restaurant & Lounge. Curious about its name, I discovered that it is because the address of the hotel is 350 Church Street Parramatta.

The 350 Restaurant & Lounge features fresh flavours in every dish that are created by experienced Executive Chef Kiki's inspiration of Asian-Western fusion cuisine. For my evening meal, I enjoyed my flavoursome Cape Grim Angus Rump fillet with a side of sweet potato fries followed by a delicious Eaton Mess dessert.

In the morning I enjoyed my nourishing buffet breakfast at the 350 Restaurant & Lounge with its wide selection of dishes made with fresh locally sourced ingredients. My full buffet breakfast also included eggs made the way I requested, a fresh fruit & veg juicer and barista-made coffee.

I was still in the hotel at lunchtime as I requested a late checkout. Being too full to order the two-course lunch special, I just indulged myself with a sorbet delicious dessert consisting of three different flavoured sorbets.
