Record growth for Queensland's visitor economy

Tourism Research Australia figures released late last week show Queensland's visitor economy experienced record growth in the year ended September 2019, with more than 28 million visitors spending $25 billion.

Domestic visitors to Queensland led the way, and the US and Japan markets also grew. The international education sector continued to perform well, and every region across the state welcomed increased visitor numbers.

Queensland welcomed a record 25.7 million domestic visitors who spent a record $19b, while international visitors spent a record $6b in Queensland.
