A new family attraction called Point to Point Park is coming to Medora in the USA’s 2020 summer. The park will feature a zipline, mini golf course, lazy Little Missouri River, and scenic picnic spots. Medora is the picturesque and authentic western gateway town for Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

Spring activities
Explore the International Peace Garden, Dunseith

The magnificent 2,300 acre International Peace Garden has two freshwater lakes, various waterfalls, and an incredible working 13-foot clock that displays over 2000 flowers each year! Spring is the ideal time to walk or cycle the garden’s trails as thousands of colourful flowers have bloomed. Take a break and have something to eat at one of the many scenic picnic areas that overlook sparkling lakes.

Camping at Cross Ranch State Park
Spring is one of the best times to go camping in North Dakota with warmer temperatures, blooming wildflowers, and more chances to spot wildlife as they become active. One great camping spot is Cross Ranch State Park where you can stay in a comfortable cabin, yurt or tipi alongside beautiful undeveloped parts of the Missouri River. In the day, hike over 13 miles of scenic trails through mixed prairie grass and forests, where you could see roaming bison, deer, wild turkeys, and hawks. This is also a great angling spot, with walleye, trout, catfish, salmon, and pike in the Missouri River.

Summer’s a ‘coming: Ride the Maah Daah Hey Trail
Outdoor adventurers will love hiking, bike riding, or horse riding the Maah Daah Hey Trail where you will pass breathtaking rugged terrain with plateaus, jagged peaks, and rivers. During the ride, many are lucky enough to spot deer, antelope, prairie dogs, golden eagles, red tail hawks, and bighorn sheep. There are eleven developed campsites on the Maah Daah Hey Trail and summer is one of the best and drier times to go camping and enjoy warmer temperatures.

Featured ranch: Lone Butte Ranch, Grassy Butte
If you’re seeking a peaceful North Dakota getaway, head to Lone Butte Ranch where you will stay in an authentic handcrafted log cabin overlooking the magnificent natural landscape. Each cabin features a large deck, modern bathroom, dinnerware, stove, refrigerator, private hot tub, electricity, Wi-Fi and television. The ranch is open year-round and is the perfect destination to hike along the well-worn cattle trails and photograph wildlife out and about in spring including wild turkeys, chipmunks, deer, coyote, and antelope. Climb up Lone Butte for panoramic views, or go bird watching for eagles, hawks, and songbirds.
