The Moorings launches new destination - Brazil

The Moorings is now offering yachts for a vacation in the colonial city of Paraty, located about 120 miles northeast of Sao Paulo.

A Paraty yacht charter reveals an abundance of natural South American from the scenic hike up to Sugarloaf Peak to the tropical fjord of Saco de Mamangua to beaches such as Beach and stunning Lopes Mendes Beach.

Located between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, a Paraty yacht charter invites you to explore the south eastern coast of Brazil and its neighbouring hidden jewels. Paraty was founded in 1667. This historic city had a strong sugarcane mill presence, making it synonymous with premium brandy production.

Enjoy serene passages over emerald-green waters, stroll along ancient cobblestone streets. Offering a blend of natural beauty, colonial charm, and cosmopolitan flair, this UNESCO World Heritage site is both bucket list-worthy and best experienced by way of a private yacht charter holiday.

With an average annual temperature of 23°C and average highs around 30°C, Brazil’s tropical climate is favourable for travellers. July is typically the coolest month while January tends to be the warmest and the wettest month. Sailing conditions remain calm and consistent throughout the year with moderate breezes hailing from the east ranging between 8 and 14 knots. The cruising grounds, which includes Paraty Mirim, Ilha Grande Bay and Angra dos Reis, are idyllic for a yacht charter holiday and offers a number of sheltered anchorages.

The Moorings is well known for its charters in the Caribbean.

But the Moorings new offer in Brazil’s Baia Carioca is the company’s first-ever foray into South America. Starting with a fleet of four yachts that can be rented either with an experienced crew or “bareboat,” means you’ll handle all the lines and plot your own course. The yachts, including custom-built boats from Beneteau, Delta, and Jeanneau, have either three or four cabins and can accommodate up to eight people.

The Moorings recommends seven-day trips, which allow time to take in popular sailing stops like Cedro, Cotia, and Gipoia islands.

Prices start from AUD$1,540 pp for a 7 night bareboat charter in mid-May 2020 for 6 people on a 3 cabin 41 foot Jeanneau.
