FREE activities these school holidays at Ayers Rock Resort

As part of the daily free guest activities program, children can learn about Indigenous art, culture, nature and astronomy by joining in the following activities:

CULTURE

Bush Yarns 11am, 11.30am, 1pm& 1.30pm daily
Join one of the bush yarn talks at the Circle of Sand and listen to the stories of Aboriginal culture and traditions such as weapons used for hunting by men and tools and techniques used by women for gathering bush tucker.

ASTRONOMY

The Astro Hub 12pm-3pm daily
Take part in fun science activities and chat to our resident astronomers about all things astronomy for those with a love of the night sky.

Astronomy Information Sessions 11.30am–1.30pm Tuesday to Saturday
Meet and interact with our Astronomer in Residence to learn about the stars, planets, galaxy, the Big Bang theory and more.

Astronomy Seminars 4pm Thursdays

The Astronomer in Residence will hold a seminar on a topic in their area of expertise.

NATURE

Guided garden walks 8:30am Desert Gardens Hotel, 9:45am Sails in the Desert Hotel

Your guide will take you on a journey highlighting local flora, learn about bush foods and bush medicine. Or collect a Garden Walk Pocket Guide from you hotel reception for a self-guided tour of these gardens.

ART

Indigenous Art Markets 10-4pm daily

Kids can also watch world-renowned artists from Maraku Arts demonstrate the technique of fine poker work on wooden artefacts synonymous to Central Australian Aboriginal Art.
