The 11th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Expo (ITE HCMC 2015), an important highlight of the Vietnamese tourism industry, will be held at the Sai Gon Exhibition & Convention Centre in District 7 from September 10-12.
The event will feature more than 250 booths from 27 provinces and cities around the country as well as 21 countries and territories around the world.
It is expected to attract around 220 international buyers (including foreign travel agencies from key international markets), 100 regional buyers (travel businesses from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam) and over 25,000 visitors.
The hightlight of the fair will be the arts programme themed ‘Viet Nam – a journey through the country of heritage’ on the opening ceremony, praising the world intangible heritage sites in Viet Nam that have been recognised by UNESCO.
On the occasion, international and domestic travel agencies will offer numerous promotional programmes to consumers such as discounted plane tickets, lucky draws which include prizes of package tours from Ho Chi Minh City to Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Europe and North America, as well as cheap airline tickets.
Additionally, a photography exhibition will be held to promote the land and people in ASEAN to celebrate the foundation of ASEAN Community (December 31, 2015).
Experts and businesses will also take part in various seminars on development of tourism brands in Viet Nam as well as the co-operation for tourism development among Mekong sub-region countries and tourism promotion among cities in the Asia-Pacific region.
The annual event, co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, aims to contribute to promoting the image of the land and people of Viet Nam to international friends in the region and world as well as connecting domestic and foreign travel businesses.
