THE WORLD ON YOUR PLATE AT GOURMET ABU DHABI

This year’s annual Gourmet Abu Dhabi, running from February 11th-20th, returns with a diverse menu of Michelin-star chefs, special guests, cooking master classes and gourmet dinners hosted at a range of the UAE capital’s leading restaurants, for what is one of the most anticipated gastronomic events of the year.

The culinary extravaganza is just one course of the inaugural Abu Dhabi Food Festival that is taking place between February 5th-21st across the emirate, which also includes the new three-day Emirati Kitchen event and the emirate’s first Street Feast, held in the Western Region, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi city.

“Gourmet Abu Dhabi has been an immensely popular addition to Abu Dhabi’s entertainment scene since its inception in 2009 and continues to develop year on year and attract worldwide attention,” said Sultan Al Dhaheri, Acting Executive Director Tourism, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), which is organising the festival.

“We have more than 30 master classes from world-class chefs, cooking demonstrations and gourmet dinners to experience and enjoy. This festival gives us the opportunity to highlight the continual efforts to raise culinary standards available across the emirate, with the choice and range of excellent international cuisine constantly being expanded. Coupled with our famed Arabian hospitality we are sure residents and visitors will once again be enthralled by this year’s Gourmet Abu Dhabi.”

International star chefs making an appearance in the capital include Niclas Yngvesson and Gustav Knutsson, owners of the Michelin-starred restaurant Bhoga in Sweden. The chefs will be bringing a distinctly Scandinavian flavour to the capital at the Beach Rotana’s Finz restaurant, demonstrating their finest seafood recipes while guests can take part in a master class to create their own three course menu under their expert supervision.

Guests can ‘Dine with the Stars’ at the Hilton Abu Dhabi with Michelin star Dutch chef Wilco Berends on February 12th and 13th, while American celebrity chef Todd English will host an exclusive dinner on February 16 at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal’s Forge restaurant.
