Several Noosa operators were recognised at the 2014 Queensland Tourism Awards with Noosa Boathouse winning gold for the second year in the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services category, RACV Noosa Resort winning gold again for the Deluxe Accommodation category and newcomer to the Queensland Tourism Awards, Belmondos Organic Market winning gold in the Excellence in Food Tourism category.

The Welcome to Noosa online customer service training program was also acknowledged at the awards, winning silver in the Tourism Education and Training category.

The Queensland Tourism Awards are the State's key industry awards recognising excellence and celebrate the outstanding achievements of tourism operators across various categories. With nearly 1000 guests attending the prestigious event in Brisbane, Tourism Noosa CEO Mr Damien Massingham was thrilled to receive the award.

“Receiving a Queensland Tourism Award is a huge accolade and with more than 1200 participants having already completed the Welcome to Noosa program, this award is also a great acknowledgment of how the tourism industry in Noosa has embraced the program with its focus on improving customer service in our destination. We are extremely proud that our industry based tourism program has again been recognised as a true leader in the Queensland tourism industry,”
said Mr Massingham.

The regional induction customer service training program, Welcome to Noosahas been so successful it has led to the State Government asking Tourism Noosa to prepare a 'Welcome to' manual so that similar programs can be rolled out in other Queensland regions.
