Finding Your Winter Wonderland in Orange County

With sunny skies and warm temperatures year-round, Southern California is normally deprived of any real “winter wonderland” typical of the holiday season. Despite our pretty perfect weather, many places throughout Orange County actually offer visitors and locals the opportunity to experience the fluffy white stuff, even if it’s not falling naturally from the sky.

When thinking of finding “snow” in Orange County, Disneyland® Park may be the first place that comes to mind. Known for its extravagant holiday festivities, every year the park’s “Believe … In Holiday Magic!” fireworks concludes with twinkly lights and falling snow - a magical ending in a magical place.

Knott’s Berry Farm® in Buena Park has also begun sprinkling snow on guests during their Knott’s Merry Farm festivities. After sundown, Ghost Town’s Main Street transforms with sparkly lights dancing to “Let it Snow,” as snow gently falls on guests.

Throughout the holiday season, many other places in Orange County host special snow events, offering fun for all ages. Here is a list of a few local events you can still attend:
  • This weekend, Dec. 19-21, snow will fall every night at the Bella Terra mall in Huntington Beach from 7 -8 p.m.
  • Also taking place this weekend, SOCO and The OC Mix invite guests to celebrate the holiday season with its SOCO Holiday event. Enjoy live piano sessions, a visit from Santa Ron, an onsite photo booth and an ending with a real snowfall!
  • On Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, the City of Fullerton will host a Snow Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brea Dam Park. Enough snow will be delivered to the park to offer sledding, snowman and snowball fight fun for all. With space limited to 900 people, guests are encouraged to register early for the event.

Now get out there and experience a SoCal winter wonderland in Orange County!
