TURESPAÑA will participate in the first staging of FITUR SHOPPING, which is due to take place as part of the International Tourism Trade Show, FITUR 2015, organised by IFEMA from 28 January to 1 February 2015 at FERIA DE MADRID.
Improving Spain’s positioning as a shopping destination is one of the goals of the Shopping Tourism Plan 2015, designed jointly with the Secretariats of State for Tourism and Trade. A commitment to emblematic and unique actions such as FITUR SHOPPING is one of the 18 lines of action into which the innovative plan is structured. Its integral approach and open and dynamic character aim to increase Spain’s renown as an ideal shopping destination.
TURESPAÑA participates in the first staging of FITUR SHOPPING, committed to an encounter that will operate as a launch pad for an emerging product, shopping tourism. FITUR SHOPPING aims to favour contacts and B2B negotiation among the professional trade sector and tourist destinations, and the professional sector of tourism intermediation. Furthermore, this engagement seeks to motivate the dynamising nature of shopping tourism by assisting business opportunities and promoting unique or traditional brands and products in Spanish tourist destinations.
FITUR SHOPPING 2015, through the “Hosted Buyer” programme and with the support of the Tourism Offices abroad, bolsters the participation of tourism agencies and intermediaries in emerging markets interested in shopping tourism, focusing at this first edition on distant markets such as China, South-East Asia and the Middle East.
To complete this innovative promotion action, there are plans to organise, in collaboration with the destinations participating in Fitur Shopping, a post-trade-show familiarisation programme to allow guest agencies to become acquainted first-hand with the attractive Spanish shopping destinations present at FITUR SHOPPING
Finally, the Spanish Tourism Offices abroad will collaborate in disseminating the staging of FITUR SHOPPING in all the markets in which they are present.
