The Sydney Opera House was voted Australia’s Greatest Icon, the Park Hyatt Sydney, Best Hotel and QT Sydney took out Best Quirky Accommodation.
NSW performed well in the food and wine categories with Sydney’s Quay named Best City Restaurant and the Southern Highlands Biota taking out Best Regional Restaurant. The Hunter Valley was the People’s Choice for Best Wine Region and Best Local Weekend.
The vote for Best-Kept Secret was a tie between Regional NSW towns Mudgee and Orange. Byron Bay was named Best Beach Town and Thredbo was deemed Best Ski Resort.
Pinetrees Lodge on Lord Howe Island picked up Best Affordable Resort and Paperbark Camp at Jervis Bay was named Best Glampsite.
Readers were also impressed with Sydney Airport, voting it Australia’s Best.
