Qazvin, Haikou to become Sister Cities

The Iranian city of Qazvin and the Chinese city of Haikou have a plan to ink a sister city agreement in a bid to coordinate their efforts in consolidating all-out relations, specially in trade and tourism domains.

A Chinese delegation is in Qazvin to draft a memorandum of understanding between the two cities. The delegation also paid a visit to Qazvin’s historical and tourism centers, and attended the City Council’s meeting on Saturday.

The Head of Haikou’s City Council International Affairs told the meeting that Qazvin enjoys many tourism attractions, and that the sisterhood agreement between Haikou and Qazvin would help extend relations.

Haikou City Council also officially invited Qazvin City Council members for a visit to Chinese city so that they make an acquaintance with Haikou’s industrial and tourism potential.

In the meeting, Qazvin’s Deputy Head of City Council Ali Farahzadi expressed gratitude for Chinese delegation visit to Qazvin to develop economic and tourism relations.

Iran is currently China's third largest supplier of crude oil, providing Beijing with roughly 12 percent of its total annual oil consumption.
