Construction of the Hall A and Hall B of National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) was completed and brought into service on June 30, 2014 in West Hongqiao area of Qingpu District. National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) was jointly constructed by the Ministry of Commerce of China and Shanghai Municipal Government, and the Hall A and Hall B, which are located in the northern part of the exhibition center, was co-constructed by Shanghai Construction Group. In October 2014, the China International Auto Products Expo, which covers a total exhibition area of 100,000 square meters, will raise the curtain at Hall A and Hall B. In November, the Shanghai Fashion & Life Consumption Expo will also be held here.
Located in Xujing Town of Qingpu District, the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) is on the West side of Hongqiao Transport Hub, and covers an area of 1,284 mu, with a total investment of RMB12 billion and 1.47 million square meters of gross floor area. After completion, it will have 400,000 square meters of indoor exhibition area and 100,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition area, and will become the world’s largest exhibition hall with “astylar” exhibition effects.
The four-leaf clover shaped National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) has 13 exhibition halls. Each hall covers an area that equals to 4 standard football stadiums. Construction of the other two exhibition halls in the southern part: Hall C and Hall D, is underway. The constructors are hoisting the steel structures for these two exhibition halls. Device debugging will be completed before the first quarter of next year. The whole project will be completed during the first half of 2015.

Several super large-scale exhibitions will be held here, such as Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, China International Bicycle Fair, China International Textile Fabric and Accessories (Spring & Summer) Expo, Shanghai International Advertising Technology and Equipment Exhibition, and Shanghai International Print, Pack and Paper Expo.
