New South Wales Royal National Park Coast Walk has been named in Australia & New Zealand Magazine’s top ten best Australian walks.
The Park’s 26 kilometre coast walk is said to be one of the most spectacular, hugging cliffs, beaches and escarpments along the Royal National Park coastline, and offering magnificent views from Bundeena at the Park’s northern entrance to Otford in the south.
The write up in Australia & New Zealand Magazine’s June edition describes fabulous ocean beaches for refreshing swims and other highlights for walkers including the Aboriginal rock carving site near Jibbon, tranquil Curracurrang waterhole, and a heritage-listed shack community.
The second national park in the world, the NSW Royal National Park is situated on 15,080 hectares and boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. Visitors can lace up and traverse the parks many spectacular tracks or hire a row boat at Audley for a leisurely paddle up Kangaroo Creek.
Facilities include kiosks at Garie, Wattamolla and Audley, Bonnie Vale camping ground and other secluded camping sites with limited bookings, and permits are essential.
