The highlight of the opening ceremony was the successful attempt at breaking Guinness World Records for Most people opening bottles in a relay, where Sheraton Macao Hotel's guests and associates, together with the local community, joined forces as a 455-strong team to break this record.

Breaking Guinness World Records™ for Most people opening bottles in a relay
The atmosphere at Sheraton Macao Hotel's Oktoberfest was extremely convivial tonight with numerous world records challengers and guests participating in this spectacular challenge. The 455 participants wearing Sheraton Macao Hotel T-shirts in 10 different colors were poised at the designated challenge zone and opened the Paulaner Beer bottles in the order as directed by Guinness World Records adjudicator from Beijing. The atmosphere and guests' emotions reached a crescendo when the 455th participant opened his bottle successfully. Guinness World Records adjudicator immediately presented the certificate to Mr. Manuel Gonçalves Pires Júnior, Deputy Director of Macau Government Tourist Office, Sheraton Macao Hotel's General Manager of Sales & Marketing Ms. Ruth Boston and General Manager of Operations Mr. Kai Petry, to officially recognized Sheraton Macao Hotel has broken the previous Guinness World Records for Most people opening bottles in a relay which was achieved by 398 participants in Ningbo in May this year.

The highlight of the event is the 40m by 15m Festhalle tent, with Sheraton Macao Hotel associates dressed in Dirndl outfits (traditional Bavarian dresses).
