The Women of Winter + Allies Networking Events, presented by Snow Australia in partnership with Snow Resorts Australia and APSI, are creating opportunities for meaningful conversations, professional development and stronger community connections. Whether you work in the snow industry, are considering a career in alpine tourism, coach athletes, volunteer, or simply have a passion for the mountains, these events offer valuable insights and inspiration.
Building Stronger Careers in Australia's Snow Industry
The Australian snow industry continues to evolve, creating exciting opportunities for women across tourism, coaching, hospitality, mountain operations, education and elite sport.
The Women of Winter initiative has become an important platform for encouraging greater representation, supporting career pathways and promoting long-term participation within the alpine community. Rather than simply focusing on professional networking, each event creates an environment where participants can openly discuss the challenges and rewards of building sustainable careers in winter environments.
Topics throughout the 2026 series include resilience and longevity, physical and mental wellbeing, workplace culture, leadership, mentorship and fostering supportive communities across Australia's alpine regions.
Jindabyne Launches the 2026 Series
The first event takes place in Jindabyne on 12 July in partnership with APSI, bringing together an outstanding panel of respected industry leaders.
Featured speakers include Manuela Berchtold, Shea de Lorenzo and Elaine Purser, who will explore the realities of sustaining long-term success in demanding alpine careers. Their discussions will examine strategies for maintaining physical and mental wellbeing while creating positive and inclusive workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Attendees can expect practical advice, inspiring personal stories and valuable networking opportunities with professionals from across the Australian snow industry.
Falls Creek Celebrates the Power of Community
Falls Creek hosts the next event on 18 July during the Snow Australia Adaptive Festival.
The focus will be on the Power of Community, recognising how collaboration, inclusion and support networks help strengthen Australia's winter sports sector. The timing alongside the Adaptive Festival highlights the importance of accessibility and diversity throughout the alpine community.
Participants will gain insights into how strong relationships and inclusive thinking continue to shape the future of Australian snow sports.
Perisher Explores the Athlete and Mother Journey
On 23 July, Perisher presents one of the most anticipated discussions of the season.
The Athlete and Mother Journey brings together athletes and mothers to share their experiences from school-based Interschools competitions through to Olympic and Paralympic pathways.
The conversation will highlight how families, coaches and communities play vital roles in supporting athletes throughout every stage of their sporting careers while balancing family life, personal wellbeing and elite competition.
Hotham Continues a Growing Tradition
The third annual Women of Winter event at Hotham takes place on 9 August ahead of a busy competition week featuring Snow Australia FUTURES and ANC Snowboard and Ski Cross events.
As one of the flagship gatherings on the Women of Winter calendar, the Hotham event continues to strengthen industry connections while celebrating the achievements of women working throughout Australia's alpine sector.
Additional speaker announcements are expected as the event approaches.
Mount Buller Hosts the Victorian Gathering
The Winter networking series concludes at Mount Buller on 15 August, immediately before the Victorian Interschools Championships.
With hundreds of athletes, families, coaches and industry professionals gathering for one of Australia's largest junior snow sports events, the timing provides an ideal opportunity for networking, knowledge sharing and celebrating the next generation of women in winter.
The event reinforces the importance of creating welcoming pathways for future leaders across every area of the snow industry.
More Than Networking
Women of Winter has become much more than a series of networking events. It represents a growing movement dedicated to creating stronger, healthier and more inclusive alpine communities across Australia.
By encouraging open discussion, celebrating diverse experiences and connecting professionals from every corner of the industry, the initiative helps ensure Australia's snowfields remain welcoming places where careers can flourish and future generations are inspired to become involved.
Whether you're an experienced industry professional, an aspiring coach, a newcomer to the mountains or simply someone passionate about winter sports, these events offer an opportunity to learn, connect and contribute to the future of Australia's vibrant alpine community.
