From 13 to 29 March 2026, Albany / Kinjarling will host one of the most ambitious outdoor art installations ever created. Lighting the Sound is a landmark cultural event that will transform King George Sound and its surrounding coastline into a vast, immersive canvas of light, delivering a once-in-a-lifetime experience for travellers seeking extraordinary moments in regional Western Australia.

Created by world-renowned Finnish light artist Kari Kola, the installation will unfold across nine magical nights, igniting the night skies in a way never before attempted on this scale.
