From world-class venues to family-owned regional gems, the awards highlighted the strength, creativity and dedication that continue to power Victoria’s visitor economy.
Melbourne Cricket Ground Takes Top Honour
The iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground claimed gold in the Major Tourist Attractions category, reaffirming its status as one of the state’s most treasured landmarks. Its win comes ahead of fellow Victorian favourites Melbourne Zoo and Melbourne Park, who secured silver and bronze. The achievement underscores the MCG’s global appeal as a premier destination for sport, culture and immersive visitor experiences.Hall of Fame Success for Business Events and Adventure Tourism
Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre reached an extraordinary milestone, taking home Gold in the Business Events category for the third consecutive year. This achievement grants the venue a prestigious place in the Hall of Fame, highlighting its consistent delivery of top-tier events and its vital contribution to Victoria’s thriving business tourism sector.Family-run Go Adventure Nagambie delivered one of the night’s most celebrated moments, achieving a rare triple honour. The operator was inducted into the Hall of Fame in both Tourism Retail, Hire and Services and Adventure Tourism, while also winning gold for Tour and Transport Operator. Their ongoing commitment to innovative, family-friendly adventure travel has made them a standout in Victoria’s regional tourism landscape.
A Celebration of Diversity, Creativity and Regional Excellence
The awards also recognised experiences that continue to elevate Victoria’s tourism offering. Sovereign Hill was celebrated for its ongoing commitment to accessible tourism, demonstrating leadership in inclusive visitor experiences. Lightscape at Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria impressed with its mesmerising outdoor installations, which attracted more than 200,000 visitors. Meanwhile, the Island Whale Festival showcased the vibrancy and unique cultural identity of Gippsland’s coastal communities.Across 29 categories and 99 finalists, this year’s winners reflected Victoria’s diverse, dynamic and evolving tourism ecosystem—one driven not only by attractions but by passionate operators who help shape unforgettable travel stories.
Victoria Set to Shine on the National Stage
With the Victorian Tourism Awards concluded, winners now advance to the Australian Tourism Awards in Fremantle on 6 March 2026, where they will represent the state’s tourism sector on a national platform.Lisa Patroni, CEO of the Victoria Tourism Industry Council, praised the achievements of the night, noting that Victoria’s operators are the heartbeat of the visitor economy. She emphasised that their passion and innovation continue to position Victoria as a global destination of choice.
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos echoed this sentiment, congratulating all finalists and winners and recognising their vital role in boosting the state’s economy and enriching Victoria’s cultural identity.
