The Bridal Track is one of the best known places for 4x4 driving and camping along the cooling waters of the Tuon and Macquarie/Wambuul Rivers.
Chifely Dam is the Bathurst region's main water catchment, with two boat ramps to launch your favourite watersports, and the Bathurst Aqua Park, an epic, inflatable pop-up playground near the shore that is the best way to cool off on a hot summer day.

During autumn, mushroom foraging is becoming an increasingly sought after activity in the region. Detour Adventures specialise in helping people find edible fungi in the State Forests around Bathurst during the peak season from April to May each year.
At any time of the year, there is still gold to be found in the rugged country around Hill End and Sofala. Novice fossickers are encouraged to take a tour with jobs gold painting tours for the best chance of finding some COA. Take the regions amazing topography at a slower pace, spotting diverse local flora and fauna on a bushwalk at Evans Crown Nature Reserve.
