Cathay Pacific Seasonal Cargo Service Returns to Hobart

After a successful launch in 2020, Cathay Pacific is pleased to confirm its continued support of local Australian exporters with its seasonal cargo service between Hobart and Hong Kong, set to return in November 2021.

The first flight departing 29 November 2021 will mark the recommencement of the service, operated by an Airbus A350-900 cargo-only passenger flight.

The service will transport high-quality fresh produce and live seafood from Tasmania to key Asian markets including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, and Singapore.

Rakesh Raicar, General Manager for Southwest Pacific Cathay Pacific, comments, “Following yet another tough year for Australian exporters, we are pleased to be able to bring back the seasonal cargo service and support the industry in getting quality, Australian produce into key Asian markets.”

The Cathay Pacific seasonal Hobart service will continue to operate beyond Christmas to coincide with the cherry season to help support market demand.

Cathay Pacific Cargo is one of the world’s leading international air cargo carriers, currently operating scheduled freighter services to 46 destinations around the world and has helped to build Hong Kong into the world’s busiest air cargo hub.
