Make this New Year’s Eve the one to remember! Celebrate New Year's Eve on Cockatoo Island

Escape the crowds and head to Cockatoo Island for Opera Australia’s inaugural open-air gala concert*, topped off with Sydney’s world famous fireworks. Add in a pre-performance dining option, along with tickets to the official after party, and make this New Year’s Eve the one to remember!

Your evening begins as the chartered ferry sets sail from the mainland, leaving the city behind. Step off the boat and onto a historic outpost that is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is equally renowned as a contemporary arts haven.

This jewel in the middle of the Harbour is the ideal vantage point for experiencing the magic of opera along with dazzling fireworks. Every note resounds across Sydney Harbour, just as each burst of colour sparkles in the sky and shimmers on the water.

Australian actor Jonathan Biggins OAM hosts an all star concert featuring internationally acclaimed voices. The opening bars of Largo al factotum from The Barber of Seville will have audiences perched on the edge of their seats in anticipation of the emotive music to come.

What better way to raise the curtain on 2022!
Capture every moment as you celebrate in style – with Harbour Bridge and city skyline twinkling behind you. If there’s one place in the world that can put on a show, it’s Sydney! And the spectacle of opera will take the revelry to new heights.

Here’s to a new tradition!

This event will take place in a COVID-safe environment, subject to public health orders. All attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination as a condition of entry.
