Aso Boy Train Ride in Japan

The Aso Boy is a train ride for the family – there is a play area with a ‘wooden ball’ pool and also a library where staff assist to watch over the kids; the on-board cafe even has a child counter. 

The ride is designed to maximise views: various seats look out of large windows, including the Panorama Sections at both ends of the train.

Aso Boy travels between Kumamoto and the hot spring town of Beppu via Mt Aso – the massive smoking volcano in the centre of Kyushu – on weekends and public holidays.
