Nagasakibana ~Cape of flower and art~ |
temperature can exceed 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit)
While the heat can be oppressive, it does come with a silver lining. For example, beer tastes especially delicious on a hot day. Alternatively, Japanese sake, wagyu and sashimi are all great after being out in the sun all day. Of course, you also need to be sure to properly hydrate and take enough sodium to avoid heatstroke too.
Summer is also a time for festivals. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic this year, many of the
happenings have been canceled. At the very least though, we can still enjoy the changing of the seasons.
For example, right now, sunflowers are starting to bloom northern parts of Oita at the Nagasakibana coast.
Anyway, hopefully you’re safe and well. While now is a bad time for the travel industry, we hope to be able welcome visitors from overseas again as soon as possible.
