Visitors can taste some tradional foods, watch cultural dance performances and learn about their history. There will also be dance workshops, stories and presentations from community members and lots to see and do for children of all ages.
Harmony Day is all about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging. This year will mark the 20th year of National celebrations of Harmony Week which includes the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The celebrations at the Museum of Tropical Queensland are a collaboration between Townsville Multicultural Support Group, Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland, Diversicare and Triple T community radio station.
