Executive Pastry Chef Anna Polyviou |
Dessert lovers can follow the giant bunny feet and enter a magical world of colours, flavours and make-believe with the one and only Punk Princess of Pastry. Hop to it…
The sweet-laden Easter garden will entertain with a mini maze, towering bunny rabbits, colourful eggs, pretty-in-pink flamingos, mad-hatter clocks, spotty mushrooms and whimsical tea tables.
Polyviou has hatched a plan to create a wonderland for Sydneysiders this Easter season.
“Easter’s about family and friends, and I want to bring everyone’s childhood alive in a fun and fabulous way that’s a first for Sydney,” said the executive pastry chef. “Our guests should feel happy the moment they enter the garden; eat, drink, laugh and enjoy the show.”
Sweet devotees are invited to take their garden seat and revel in the spectacle of Polyviou’s show-stopping take on an Easter High Tea picnic, which includes wickedly indulgent Chocolate Pots, sweet Cracked Egg Tarts, decadent Club Cakes and sticky Hot Cross Buns.
By night, they can enjoy a tête-à-tête with a cocktail picnic basket for two and nibble on savoury morsels, such as cured meats, Australian cheese, moreish olives, fluffy quiche and the freshest fruit.
Easter revellers can sip on a Popcorn Caramel Martini, a smooth Spritz, flutes of champagne and the finest tea. Guests can also dig into a potted Carrot Easter egg with their very own shovel. This rich chocolate creation overflows with lollies, mini eggs and is planted in chocolate rocks.
The Easter Garden is open at the Lobby Lounge, Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, 176 Cumberland Street, The Rocks, from 30 March to 29 April 2019.
The Easter High Tea Picnic is available from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., 1 to 3 p.m., and from 3:15 to 5 p.m., and is priced from $75 per adult and $55 per child (0–11 years old).
