This year’s ibtm latin america (formerly ICOMEX) will be held at Centro Banamex, one of the largest venues in Mexico City, on 7-8 September 2016. Following its announcement of expansion in the Latin American market, MCI Group has chosen the meeting platform to hold its 2016 “MCI Americas Regional Management meeting” reaffirming ibtm’s leader position as the largest meetings and incentives supplier’s community.
Richard Torriani, Chief Operating Officer Americas comments, “Being co-located with ibtm latin america provides a great opportunity for us to connect with some of the world’s leading meetings and events buyers attending the show this year, so we are very much looking forward to hosting MCI Americas Regional Management meeting in Mexico City in September.
“We have solidified our leading position within the Americas and as a result of this, the Americas region tripled in size to reach 20 million in gross margin. Our ambition is for further expansion in the Americas and development in new digital and technology driven services. This strategic direction enables us to continue delivering and structuring the required solutions that are relevant for our clients’ success”, concludes Torriani.
Concurrently, ibtm latin america’s Show Director David Hidalgo announces that Hosted Buyer registration is now open to international and regional meeting planners looking to get a foothold in the rapidly growing meetings industry in Brazil and Latin America.
David Hidalgo commented “We are delighted that MCI has chosen ibtm latin america as their partner for their 2016 management event. Professor Rob Davidson talked of the power of this region in his Industry Trends Report, saying how competitive it is and the efforts being made to attract meetings and events in Mexico, Colombia, Panama, Brazil and Argentina. This endorsement by MCI also shows how important our event is to the regional marketplace.”
Expecting to bring together some 7,000 suppliers and buyers, ibtm latin america 2016 will hold an education forum, networking events as well as a Hosted Buyer Program. This year, meeting planners will have the opportunity to connect with more than 380 suppliers from South America, the US and Europe. Individuals will be able to choose between a fully hosted and a semi hosted programme to best suit their business needs.
“This marks our first year as part of the ibtm events portfolio, which not only helps to solidify our presence in the international MICE industry, but also allows us to tap into a worldwide database of buyers uniting international and regional communities from five continents around the world. This year we will be looking to increase the number of local and regional buyers, as well as increase the number from Panama, Peru, Colombia and Chile as these were countries our exhibitors have expressed a real interest in,” added Hildago.
