December 2014: What's New, What's On & Where to Sleep in Britain 2015

This month the VisitBritain PR team serves you something new, something delicious and something...cuddly. Our guides to What's New, must-see theatre, hot exhibitions and where to sleep in Britain 2015 are now ready to download, along with our annual events calendar. One of 2015's key events will be Scotland's Year of Food and Drink so we bring you 10 unmissable eating and drinking experiences. The launch of the VisitBritain Paddington campaign ahead of the movie's Australian release on 11 December makes it a good time to find out how to dress like Paddington, to where to go from Paddington and how to follow in Paddington's pawsteps. From the Rugby World Cup 2015 to Scotland's Year of Food and Drink, there are fantastic events to book trips around. The 125th anniversary of Agatha Christie's birth and the 150th of Alice in Wonderland's publication will draw in literary buffs; thrillseekers, meanwhile, will find new attractions in Wales to get the adrenalin going. Ever grown tired of stomping up and down steps and longed for the days when you could bounce downstairs in a sleeping bag? A luxurious bunkhouse in the Brecon Beacons has the solution. A brand new tubular slide has been built inside a new bunkhouse, thanks to a collaboration with a local playground designer, so that guests can slip down freely from floor to floor on their own adult's helter skelter. Paddington - follow the bear around Britain! VisitBritain has partnered with STUDIOCANAL to promote Britain as a GREAT destination to visit with the UK release of the new Paddington film (11 December), following the adventures of the famous bear who arrives at Paddington Station from Peru. Experience the World Of Wedgwood – opens May 2015: One of Britain's most well-known brands, Wedgwood, will open its £34 million visitor centre near Stoke-on-Trent, central England, to the public on 1 May 2015. The new complex at the company's headquarters in Barlaston, Staffordshire (an hour's drive north of Birmingham), will combine a state-of-the-art visitor experience, including an interactive factory tour, the Wedgwood Museum, a flagship retail store, stylish Wedgwood Tea rooms and a new restaurant championing locally sourced produce.
