Two free concerts on Australia Day 2015 have been secured with The Wiggles featuring in a morning concert and the night-time event featuring popular Australian acts Jessica Mauboy, Justice Crew, Sheppard and Russell Morris.
The Wiggles Australia Day Concert and The Australia Day Concert at the Sydney Opera House are sponsored by the NSW Government through Destination NSW, with approximately 7,000 tickets to be made available via a public ballot.
NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Troy Grant, believes Australia Day is a day to celebrate how fortunate each one of us is to live in this extraordinary country.
“Every year, the Australia Day Council of NSW presents an incredible program which brings people from across the nation to Sydney to celebrate with us, with a whole calendar of events to suit all Australians, be it cultural, musical or fun for the whole family. These two new concerts will amplify the overall atmosphere of Australia Day and we’re proud to feature them in our Australia Day events line-up,” Mr Grant said.
One of Australia’s leading creative and musical talents, John Foreman, has been appointed to the role of Creative Director for the evening concert, bringing together a collection of Australia’s best performers to mark the festivities.
To register for the ticket ballot for either concert please visit www.australiaday.com.au. Registrations close on the 7 January 2015.
