The Cancer Council NSW Seven Bridges Walk, in its ninth year, returns to Sydney on Sunday 26 October 2014. Participants will once again have an opportunity to raise money for charity while taking in some of the Harbour City’s most spectacular views, including the Gladesville Bridge, which this year celebrates its 50th birthday.
Around 63,000 walkers have taken part in the Seven Bridges Walk since 2006. This year, organisers are hoping to raise $655,000 for Cancer Council NSW. An impressive 89 per cent of walkers choose to walk the full 27 kilometres, but participants can choose as little or as much of the course as they like. Taking in Sydney Harbour Bridge, Pyrmont Bridge, Anzac Bridge, Iron Cove Bridge, Gladesville Bridge and Fig Tree Bridge, the course traverses through harbour-side villages where walkers can enjoy food, music and activities and recharge before moving on.
Participants can register and start at any village, where they can pick up their Event Passport which includes a course map and official event wristband. All participants walk clockwise around the course, and can stop to fill up their own water bottles at any of the villages along the way. Free buses will be available to help participants get around the course.
