Mangrove Bay Wetland in Hainan open

Mangrove Bay Wetland in Chengmai county of Hainan province will be officially opened to the public today, Oct 1 to welcome visitors during the National Day holiday.

The wetland covers an area of 1.47-square-kilometers and features many entertainment options. You can have a look at the mangroves that grow in swamps and other aquatic plants, as well as animals like flamingos, which are not native to Hainan, and many other kinds of birds, which are. There is also a themed restaurant, tea house and water recreation area.

Mangroves are rare, and protected in China, and can release a large amount of negative oxygen ions, excellent for health.
