The Hunter Valley has been named as one of 20 finalists in the running for a spot in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice list of the world’s best wine regions to visit, the only Australian wine region to make the list .
10Best aims to give users original, unbiased, and experiential travel content on top attractions, things to do, and restaurants for top destinations around the world.
The Hunter Valley joins prestigious wine regions from across the world including Burgundy and Champagne in France, Tuscany and Veneto in Italy, Alentejo in Portugal and Mendoza in Argentina, all battling it out for a place in the top 10.
Voting is open now, and runs until Monday 4 August on the 10Best website. Voters are encouraged to share the URL via social media to inspire friends to get on board to support the Hunter Valley.
Meanwhile, Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism has released the second edition of the Hunter Valley Magazine, showcasing the best food, wine and other experiences in the region.
The issue includes a feature on the Hunter Valley winemakers responsible for the region’s best Shiraz. It also showcases Hunter Valley beef, profiles some of the region’s alternative wine varieties, takes a look at the day in the life of an alpaca farmer, and includes interviews with brides about their wine country weddings.
Edition two of the Hunter Valley Magazine is available now on the Wine Country website.
