New Heights Reached with Thrilling Canopy Safari Tour

For visitors who love a view from the top, Sydney’s new TreeTop Safari offers a stunning up close and personal experience with nature, boasting glorious 360º views and thrilling flying foxes in a first for NSW.

The Safari is the latest innovation by renowned Sydney eco adventurers and owners of the TreeTop Adventure Park concept, Sandrine Gaymard and Frederic Galimard. The pair set out to develop an adventure experience where the bush and its inhabitants play a starring role.

What they’ve created is a fun adventure featuring suspension bridges and flying foxes high in the trees, with vistas of the pristine Blue Mountains and Sydney’s CBD. It’s capped off with one of Australia’s most breathtaking flying foxes at 360 metres, launching four storeys high in the canopy.

“In Sydney we’re surrounded by such natural beauty, and the Safari gives people the opportunity to have a unique personal experience with it,” Sandrine said.

“The TreeTop Safari meanders through the critically endangered Cumberland Plain Woodland and its wetlands before taking an upward turn through the tree tops, where visitors experience the exhilarating sensation of flying from tree to tree – just like the local wildlife.”

Fully-trained guides provide educational insights into the flora and fauna and visitors can also meet the gentle giant monitor lizard, affectionately called Godzilla, which has taken up residence along the tour route.

Set deep in the forest at the multi-award winning TreeTop Adventure Park, Abbotsbury (which just picked up gold at the 2013 NSW Tourism Awards in New Development Category), the Safari is great for adventurers aged 10 plus. It’s also a fantastic team building day out.

All participants receive safety training and wear helmets and safety gear. Ticket prices are $120 for adults and $95 for juniors (aged 10 plus). The tour lasts about two hours.
