Cancun is now number one tourist destination in Latin America

Cancun begins the year 2014 as the undisputed leading tourist destination in the whole of Latin America. During the first month of the year Cancun has maintained 90 per cent of hotel occupancy.

“After a great success in tourism during the December holidays and record high occupancy levels and arrivals in the first two weeks of 2014, Cancun has become the number one tourist destination in Latin America,“ said Jesus Almaguer Salazar, Director of the Conventions and Visitors Board (Oficina de Visitantes y Convenciones).

The Director of the Conventions and Visitors Board also mentioned that Cancun is ready to participate in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, Spain, where 30 companies will set up their stands to promote the various attractions of this destination and offering quality services to its visitors.

FITUR is a global meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound Ibero American markets. This International Tourism Trade Fair, celebrates its 34th year from January 22 to 26, 2014.
