In total, FRHI expects to open seven new properties across its three leading hotel brands, representing more than 1,300 guestrooms. Noteworthy openings include:
Swissôtel Sochi Krasnaya Polyana & Swissôtel Sochi Kamelia - Two new Swissôtel properties will open in Russia just in time for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. Swissôtel Sochi Krasnaya Polyana, about 35 miles (60 km) from the center of Sochi city, will feature 166 guestrooms and suites including six Mountain View Penthouse Suites. The resort will be close to shopping and dining and only a few meters away from the area's best skiing facilities.
Swissôtel Sochi Kamelia is a beach resort that is a reconstruction of a historical building, with two modern side wings. Set in a natural park overlooking the Black Sea, the property will feature 203 deluxe, contemporary guestrooms and suites, many with sea views, as well as two restaurants.
Swissôtel Bodrum Beach - This new property in Turkey will occupy an enviable location on the waterfront in Turgutreis, with close proximity to the center of Bodrum and the airport. The two-story hotel will comprise 66 guestrooms and suites as well as villas and duplex terraces which will house 72 private residences. The resort will offer indoor and outdoor pools, several restaurants, a Pürovel Spa & Sport and a range of sporting activities. Enjoying a warm Mediterranean climate for much of the year, the destination offers ideal conditions for surfing, diving and other water sports.
Fairmont Riyadh, Business Gate - This luxurious property in Saudi Arabia will be part of a new mixed-use development project that will include the hotel, a convention center and commercial real estate space. The hotel will feature 287 spacious guestrooms, including Fairmont Gold, the brand's exclusive hotel within a hotel offering. Guests will enjoy a selection of dining venues as well as spa and fitness facilities.
Fairmont Ajman - This new resort property in the UAE will be prominently situated on the Corniche, fronting 820 feet (250 meters) of unspoiled, sandy beaches. The resort will feature 252 guestrooms and suites, including two penthouses. Dining options will include an all-day dining outlet, with a multi-kitchen format and two private dining rooms, which will transform into an à la carte restaurant at night. There will also be a lobby lounge and a contemporary eatery offering Turkish cuisine, with an adjoining cocktail bar, as well as a shisha terrace and poolside bar. The hotel will offer 21,528 square feet (2,000 square meters) of indoor function space as well as outdoor meeting facilities.
Raffles Istanbul - The hotel will be a key feature of the new Zorlu Center, one of the largest developments in the city and Turkey's first and only mixed-use project. The hotel's interior will feature a contemporary interpretation of traditional Turkish design, reflecting characteristic cultural features of Istanbul. It will offer 130 guestrooms and 51 suites, a 12,916 square foot (1,200 square meter) ballroom with a large foyer, two restaurants and two bars, including one inspired by Raffles Singapore's iconic Long Bar. There will be swimming pools, a helipad and a 32,292 square foot (3,000 square meter) signature Raffles Spa, set to be one of the largest in the city.
Raffles Jakarta - Located in the heart of the central business district, and set among luxury boutiques, office buildings and an art museum in the prestigious Ciputra World Jakarta development, the hotel will feature 180 exquisitely-designed guestrooms and suites. It will also offer an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty Chinese restaurant, various bars and lounges, including a poolside outlet, as well as a 26,910 square foot (2,500 square meter) ballroom, four meeting rooms and a 11,840 square foot (1,100 square meter) Raffles Spa.
Looking beyond 2014, FRHI has a number of hotel development projects underway in markets like India, Russia, Indonesia and China set to open over the next five years. The company remains focused on international expansion for all three brands with particular emphasis on key markets in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
