The pylons will feature images of the best moments of the 2013 NRL season in the lead up to the big day.
he images are 80 metres tall and will be on display each night until the NRL Premiership Grand Final takes place on Sunday 6 October at ANZ Stadium.
“The NRL Grand Final is one of Australia’s premier blockbuster sporting events, and it’s great that week-long celebrations are held in the nation’s league heartland, Sydney,” NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell said.
“Congratulations to the Sydney Roosters and Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles for reaching the 2013 Grand Final. I wish both sides the best of luck as they prepare for next Sunday night.
“The NSW Government is a proud supporter of the NRL and with more than 80,000 fans expected to pack ANZ Stadium next Sunday, the atmosphere will be electric and will be an event no NRL fan should miss,” he said.
Minister for Sport Gabrielle Upton said the NRL Finals Series and Grand Final celebrations are examples of the NSW Government’s commitment to bringing major sporting events to the State.
“The NRL Grand Final will follow a record-breaking winter of major sporting events in Sydney – the biggest since the 2000 Olympic Games,” Ms Upton said.
“I have no doubt that football fans across NSW and the country will enjoy every moment of grand final fever this week in Sydney.
“I look forward to the NRL Grand Final and I’m proud to say that regardless, which team wins, the Provan-Summons trophy will be returning home to NSW,” Ms Upton said.
