More than 1000 exhibitors to showcase products at World Travel and Tourism Africa Fair

At least 1,442 exhibitors will showcase their products and services at the annual Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Africa Fair here this year, up from 1,200 last year, says Zimbabwe Tourism Authority public relations manager Sugar Chagonda. He told New Ziana here on Monday that this premier tourism showcase would be held at the Harare International Conference Centre from Thursday to Saturday.

“Sanganai has grown as a tourism brand over the past six years and that is why even the number of exhibitors escalates with each exhibition,” he said.Chagonda added that the exhibitors were from South Africa, Namibia and Botswana while other countries were represented by their embassies. The Sanganai/Hlanganani expo is aimed at showcasing a variety of Africa’s best tourism products. This year’s edition will see the hosting of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) Business Forum on Thursday.

Hosting this years’ edition of the premier tourism event cost a total of 750,000 USD which Chagonda said was secured from the Ministry of Finance. The expo showcases the widest variety of Africa’s best tourism products and attracts international visitors and media from across the world. It targets national tourism boards, embassies, airlines, tourism destinations, tour operators, suppliers of goods and services, investors and hoteliers.

Participants at Sanganai/Hlanganani have an opportunity to meet and network with exhibitors, visiting buyers, investors and suppliers of services to the tourism sector from all over the world. This year’s edition of Sanganai/Hlanganani comes hot on the heels of the 20th United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) general assembly which Zimbabwe and Zambia co-hosted in August.
