Following in the footsteps of the successful Stories Beat
Stuff campaign, youth travelers were asked to share their best and most
inspiring story of "exploration" for the chance to win a once in a
lifetime trip for two to New Zealand.
"The youth market is a big focus for Tourism New
Zealand in Germany, with 26 per cent of German active considerers aged between
18 - 29 years-old," says Danielle Genty-Nott, Regional Manager UK &
Europe.
"German travelers within this age group express a
strong desire to escape everyday life and seek new experiences which has shaped
the 'explorer' message of the activity."
Launched in November, the promotion was run in
partnership with international youth travel brand STA and airline Emirates
through to the end of December.
The campaign was executed across both online and print
media with influential German lifestyle and youth magazine Neon promoting the
competition on their website.

A second competition is also running across STA's 70
Travel Shops in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, with four adventure holidays
to New Zealand up for grabs with flights included. The competition is being
promoted across a range of media including online and print advertising,
through social media and STA's newsletter.
The campaign work comes at the end of another successful
year for Tourism New Zealand in the youth sector with the Stories Beat Stuff
video's approaching a million views.
